Duties and
responsibilities:
The radiation therapist technologists assist
radiologists and onocologists (like cancer specialists) in treating the
diseases by exposing areas of the patients’ bodies to ionizing radiation. In order
to help with this treatments, technologists are responsible for the maintaining
the radiation therapy equipment and the helping maintain the patients records. Radiation
therapy is provided in the hospitals, public health clinics, cancer treatment
centers, and also in private offices.

$22,000 - $36,000
Educational requirements:
The students should take the most difficult
and challenging science, math, and also English courses that are available in
high school.
Students that
can train to become a radiation therapy are either one or two year programs. One
year programs are often offered in the hospitals. In order to qualify for a one
year program, you must have a graduated from an approved program in the
radiologic technology or been a nurse with an education in radiation physics. A
high school diploma or a GED is required to enter two year courses.
