Duties and responsibilities:

 The psychiatrists are physicians who see what the problems for the mental illness. As for the physicians they use a very wide variety of treatment and they may write prescriptions. They may work for the government, have their own private practice, or work in hospitals, clinics or even universities. The thing they do include:

·       Conducting psychotherapy sessions.

·       Prescribing potent mental illness drugs.

·       They keep an eye on electrotherapy treatments.

·       Conducting research.

·       Leading a team of mental health care providers.

Educational requirements:

In order to complete the requirements for a degree in the allopathic or osteopathic medicine, psychiatrists must at least complete a intensive three year residency in psychiatry.
