Duties and
responsibilities:
Ophthalmologists are physicians who specialize
the treatment for eyes disorder and diseases. They do treatment for vision
problems and write prescriptions for both pharmaceuticals and corrective
eyeglasses lenses. When it is really necessary they have to do eye surgery. To most
of the ophthalmologists are in private practices, but however some are employed
by hospitals, clinics, and others perform research.
Average salary:
$90,000 - $150,000
Educational requirements:
The only ones that can become a
ophthalmologists are only physicians that study to become as that. Right after
completing medical school and an internships, and ophthalmologist must at least
complete three to five years residency in an approved ophthalmology program. After
completing all their residency programs they must pass this one examination to
be certified.
