Duties and responsibilities
Histology specialists include the two histologic technicians and histologists. Both of the histologists and the histologic technicians prepare tissue samples that are used by the physicians if the patient had a disease, dysfunction, or malignancy.
Histology technicians and histologists prepare a sample by using some equipment to thinly slice the tissue sample. They get the thinly slice on the microscope slide. Then they use chemicals to stain them so important structures are visible.
The histologists perform more complex and advanced procedures than technicians and often they also perform management functions.
Also for histology specialist work in the hospital, veterinary, pharmacy, or research laboratories.
Average salary
$22,000 - $35,000 (histologic technicians)
$30,000 - $50,000(histologists)
Educational requirements
The students should take the most really challenging high school courses in science, math and even in English.

To become in one o0f the histologic technician, students must earn their associate’s degree in the field and complete one year internship or complete a long-term training program in the histopathology lab.
