This quote of Lou Holtz is mostly saying that we should be care what we say or do because sometimes we can regret things we don’t mean or do. For example if you say something to someone that you didn’t mean you can’t just take all of those things you said back.

Optometrist
Duties and responsibilities:
 The optometrists treat patients with vision problem. They treat it by diagnosing their problems and then they write them a prescription for getting eyeglasses, contact lenses, or vision therapy. Some of the optometrist specializes in vision safety; the treatment of the vision will relate learning disabilities, and environmental vision care. Not like ophthalmologists they are not physicians and they can’t write a medical prescription, treat diseases, or even perform surgery. Mostly a few optometrists are self-employed, which however many of them work for hospitals, government agencies, optical manufacturers, or universities.
Average salary:
 $78,000
Educational requirements:

 Most students are interested in becoming an optometrist. They should take more challenging high school courses (AP or IB) in math, science, and English. But before they enter an optometry school they should at least take two years of college in a pre-professional program is also required. The optometry school is four years.

Optician
Duties and responsibilities:
 The opticians fit and dispense eyeglasses for the patients based on the prescriptions that’s written by the ophthalmologists or the optometrists. The opticians help the customers pick their eyeglass frames. Then they measure their faces so it can be in the correct size frames and can be ordered. They even measure the distance between the corneas of the eyes so that the lenses may be correctly fitted in the frames. Some of the opticians specialize in the fitting of contact lens and also in fitting artificial eyes. They may have their own retail store or they can work for the optical store. Most of them can also work for the optometrists and ophthalmologists who even sell glasses.
Average salary:
 $19,000 – $40,000
Educational requirement:

 The students should take high school courses in physics, algebra, mechanical drawing, and even geometry. A high school diploma or GED certificate is needed to start training as an optician. There are two types of training programs. The students can either complete the approved for two years courses at a school of opticianry, or they can even complete the approved for three year on the job apprenticeship.

Duties and responsibilities:
 Ophthalmologists are physicians who specialize the treatment for eyes disorder and diseases. They do treatment for vision problems and write prescriptions for both pharmaceuticals and corrective eyeglasses lenses. When it is really necessary they have to do eye surgery. To most of the ophthalmologists are in private practices, but however some are employed by hospitals, clinics, and others perform research.
Average salary:
 $90,000 - $150,000
Educational requirements:

 The only ones that can become a ophthalmologists are only physicians that study to become as that. Right after completing medical school and an internships, and ophthalmologist must at least complete three to five years residency in an approved ophthalmology program. After completing all their residency programs they must pass this one examination to be certified.

Ophthalmic technician
Duties and responsibilities:
 Ophthalmic technicians or technologists help ophthalmologists collect the data and measurements to allow the correct diagnosis and even the treatment of the eye diseases and problems. Ophthalmic work at the hospitals, clinics, or for ophthalmologists in private practice. Their duties often include:
·       Performing simple eye exams.
·       Assisting with eye surgery.
·       Explaining the diagnostic and treatment procedures to the patients
Average salary:
 $14,000 - $25,000
Educational requirements:
 The students will need to have or get a high school diploma or GED certificate and two years of college prior to start ophthalmic training programs. These programs might be very in length, but let’s see if you can take up to two years to complete it.


i think i would like to be a ophthalmic because i can see what wrong with peoples eyes and what type of glasses they need. This can teach me a lot of this if i do become a ophthalmic technicians.
