Duties and responsibilities:

 Environmental health specialist, enforce government regulations and advise and educate clients. They also improve water and sanitation facilities. They often:

·      Collect and analyze samples

·      Screen samples for possible health hazards.

·        Design or manage sanitation, disposal, and water systems.

·      Oversee disposal of infectious wastes.

·      Develop and manage prevention and education programs.

·        Evaluate and identify health hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.

Average yearly salary: $25,000 - $50,000

Education:    

Students should take college preparatory courses, especially in mathematics and science, during high school.

A career as a sanitarian or environmental health specialist requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in environmental health or environmental engineering.  Many jobs require certification and/or a Master's Degree in these, or related fields.

 Dialysis technicians operate machines that remove waste and excess fluids from the blood of patients whose kidneys can no longer carry out those functions. Dialysis technician are also referred dialysis technicians, hemodialysis technicians, or nephrology technicians. They work under the supervision of physicians, primarily in hospitals and clinics.

 Dialysis technicians must fully understand the operation of the kidney dialysis machines. They are responsible for their operation, cleaning, and sterilization. They must also fully understand their patient’s needs. Dialysis technicians carefully monitor and record weight and vital signs before, during, and after the blood cleansing procedures. Additionally, they instruct patients about in-home treatments. Because dialysis technicians work with blood, they must exercise strict safety precautions against infectious diseases such as hepatitis and AIDS.
